THE COMPANY

The history of Natursteinwerk Böswald GmbH begins in the early years of the 20th century – a time when craftsmanship still meant true pioneering work. In Monheim, Anna and Andreas Böswald laid the foundations with courage, energy, and a passion for stone.
They laid the foundation for what is today a family business steeped in tradition. Using the simplest of means, they began quarrying Jura marble and producing paving stones – driven by their belief in the durability of the natural material and the value of honest craftsmanship.

After the Second World War, the founders' sons joined the family business and established A. Böswald & Söhne OHG. With passion and vision, they led the company into a period of growth. In the following decades, the family business expanded steadily, eventually operating two factories and four quarries in Swabia and Franconia – a clear testament to the family's success and their deep connection to their homeland and their craft.

Later, Andreas Böswald Jr. took over the family business in Monheim and several quarries. Under his leadership, the family tradition was preserved and passed on to the next generation. Gerhard Böswald Sr. continued the family's legacy.
He continued the legacy of his ancestors and founded Natursteinwerk Böswald GmbH in 1983.

To this day, the name Böswald stands for passion, quality and consistency – for a family business that has been bringing stone to life with heart and hand for over a century.
